I’ve recently gotten back into Age of Empires 2 and wanted to run the original disc version I have on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit install. However, when I went to run the game, it showed it running in Task Manager then it closed.

When its in full screen mode it is just a small box in the middle of the screen and the background behind it is all black, which would be fine, but the mouse can go out the games box which means that when trying to move around the map it is really hard to scroll because there is only a small area that your mouse has to be in to be able scroll, usually at the edge of the screen.
